Legacy Shield Replacement
Read all instructions before disassembly!
| It is easiest to remove and install the shield in the up position. Replace any damaged or broken parts. The shield will only perform as designed if all the parts are in good working condition. | ||
| A | Component parts: shield,
left & right pivot cover, left & right pivot plate assembly, 6 pivot assembly retaining screws |

| B | To remove the side cover: grasp the side cover from the eye port side and pull straight away from helmet. The shield will remain attached to the pivots. |  |
| C | Please note: The shield rotates on the pivot assembly. At "B" is a tab that secures the shield to the pivot assembly. Be careful not to break or damage this tab. |  |
| D | To release the shield from the pivot assembly, push shield at "A" and lift shield at "B". The shield will release and slide forward. Continue to slide the shield forward until off the pivot. |  |
| E | Removal of pivot assemblies are not necessary to replace shield. Skip F if pivots are not replaced. | |
| F | To replace pivots: Prior to removal- note position of screws in pivot assembly. Remove the 3 retainer screws. The pivot has a locking arm that fits into "A" in the helmet shell. Slide the pivot rearward to release and remove. Reverse steps to install new pivot assembly. Adjustment of the pivot assembly must be performed in the down position with the shield installed. With all screws loose, push shield up against eyeport moulding, tighten screws. |

| H | The shield must be installed under the tab at "B" and will rest on top of collar until the next step. | |
| I | Once the position of the shield is in the position as shown in H above, press shield at "A" and "B" and slide shield rearward. The shield will SNAP into place. Repeat steps for opposite side. Shield should rotate freely. |  |
| J | This view shows how the shield should look mounted on pivot assembly (shield has been colored for better view and is rotated one notch UP). |  |
| K | There are four retainers on the side covers. Each retainer has 4 posts. The side cover will not stay on the helmet if the posts are missing. |  |
| L | Position the side cover over the pivot assembly so as the ALL four retainers are at their respective holes at the pivot assembly. Push side cover until the four retainers SNAP into the pivot assembly. The side cover gap should be consistent around its perimeter. |  |
| M | If all the parts have been installed correctly, the shield should ratchet freely in all positions. | |
