M2 Shield Replacement

Read all instructions before disassembly!

It is easiest to remove and install the shield in the up position. Replace any damaged or broken parts. The shield will only perform as designed if all the parts are in good working condition.
A Tools:  5/16 & 3/32 Allen wrench
Parts:  2ea #248 pivot, 2ea #245 detent, 1 eccentric washer, 1 eccentric screw
B Remove old pivots using 9/16 allen wrench. We recommend replacement of the detent once a year.
C Re-assembly: Install detent pin "A" into corresponding hole in helmet shell.
D It is best to assemble the shield in the partial upright position, see "B" position, Install shield with detent arm "B" through shield.
E Install  pivot through large hole in shield into threaded nutsert in helmet shell. Install both pivots before tightening. Slightly rotate shield up and down while tightening the pivot. Pivot should bottom out at helmet shell and NOT on detent.
F The purpose of the eccentric button is to lock the shiled in the down position.
To adjust: loosen eccentric button screw "D"
G Rotate shield hole "C" over button "D". While pushing shield down, tighten screw. If the eccentric button is adjusted correctly, he compression of the eyeport foam will prevent the shield from rattling.
H When installed correctly, this is how your shield should look.
I Replacement of eyeport foam: Remove backing and install on top of the eyeport moulding. Join the ends at the eccentric button area.
